On Thursday 25 November 2021, six African heads of state met in Kinshasa for the Conference on Positive Masculinity, an initiative of the President of the DRC, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, then chair of the African Union, in collaboration with the AU Commission.
On the sidelines of the summit, Odiane Lokako Felber, president of the ELCOS foundation and a campaigner against violence towards women in the DRC for more than twenty years, was received by Senegalese President Macky Sall.
She presented the foundation’s work, in particular its projects to reintegrate women who were raped or displaced by war through agricultural projects.
After this plea on behalf of the women of eastern Congo, President Macky Sall assured her of his support and pledged to develop the model with her during his upcoming term as chair of the African Union.
