In May 2026, Odiane Lokako, president of the Fondation Lokako by ELCOS, was in Kolwezi, the mining capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, for the 7th Katanga Business Meeting, held under the patronage of the Governor of Lualaba, Fifi Masuka Saini.
Received by the governor, she presented a vocational training and youth mentoring project led by the foundation, and praised the governor’s commitment to local mineral processing and economic diversification.

During the forum, Odiane Lokako called for closer links between mining and agriculture, as a lever for a more sustainable, job-creating economy, and for a greater role for women in strategic sectors, notably through technical and vocational training.
